Erich Engeln shawl Schultertuch
These incredible vintage-styled shawls are usually knit of thin yarn. This makes them really beautiful but not for hard use under the snow. I decided to combine stunning beauty and tenderness of the pattern with the warmth and solidity of wool. I have painted 100% wool gradually and added thin mohair/lurex yarn for more "winter" look. Shawl turned out great, wide and able to be worn as coat or poncho. Erich Engeln who was creator of the model, designed the shawl crescent-shaped, that allows to wrap it comfortably around the neck.
Dimensions:
central line - 80 cm (32")
from edge to edge - 160 cm (64")

Post for newbies - inspirational!
You never know what you can do till you try.
She tried Irish crochet in 2009. She was absolutely new in the technique.
Now we all recognize her style: meet Galina Verten aka Assia!
This emerald dress is fantastic. It is for sale for USD 2670 and it's worth it!

Now we all recognize her style: meet Galina Verten aka Assia!
This famous model is published in Zhurnal Mod 544 with patterns and description
Galina is Ukrainian who lives in Verona, Italy. Verona, as you all know, is a home of Shakespeare's Juliet. May be this is a key?
This model is available to buy for USD 2075 only :)
or you can make a replica yourself using charts from Duplet magazines
The "secret" of her design is very accurate crochet. All nets are made with hooks 0.6 - 0.7 mm!!!
Flovers are embossed. Leaves are whimsical.
The dress design is always non-simmetric, it's important!
And of course, the game of colors:
and a shine of seed beads broidery:

Closer look. Designer shows ready dress:
The most boring job in Irish crochet is netting. Leaves and flowers are fairly easy to crochet, you can do it everywhere: watching TV, waiting your child on the basketball court, even sitting in a traffic jam :)
But the netting is always holy terror for Irish crochet newbies. It must be accurate, neat and wise. That is why Duplet published great Netting Special collection with zillion of patterns, charts, pictures, methods and master-classes on how to do and how to assemble everything together. This release will be also interesting to filet crocheter - there are tons of unusual patterns with common stitches
and lot of more... on 160 pages

More pictures of the Coat
Designer shared her "technical pictures" and added some notes. She used 100% yarn 1000m/100gr.
The Coat was crocheted with 2 kg (yes, 2000gr) of 8-plied yarn.
Coat size is for 112 cm chest circumference.
Clear pictures and patterns are printed in Duplet 131 and now I'll add some "technical pictures" of assembling process. The details were assembled on big foam mat, face down, as always.
